Primary emotions have two fundamental characteristics: they are instinctive and are universal, so they are not influenced by external factors, neither environmental nor cultural.
They belong not only to mankind but to all mammals. In human beings they can be mixed with each other giving life to secondary emotions, such as guilt, envy, shame. Several studies have been carried out to define the exact number of primary emotions, that is, which meet these requirements. They arrive at slightly different results. Here we welcome the research that proposes six basic emotions Leggi qui l'articolo completo

Most of the time this path takes place in a natural way and the succession of its stages almost escapes us.
The undisputed acceptance of the models that are proposed to us is replaced by an initial excess of critical sense that makes us question everything and everyone (the “polemic” period typical of adolescence), up to lead us to build our own scale of values, a yardstick strong enough to confront the others without being crushed. We learn to relate to others, to assert our ideas by giving them motivation, we can explain and support our opinions and our position using dialogue and reason and no longer an opposition of principle that often hides a lack of content and certainties. Not all expressions of affection or interest imply love and we are not always able to “love” in the true sense of the word. For a feeling of love to be born within us a certain predisposition, a suitable state of mind is necessary. We usually fall in love when we feel ready for a breakthrough, when we’ve matured the desire to change something in our lives, for example, when a previous history has definitively closed and we have internalized that this phase is over and we feel ready to carry out a process of deconstruction-restructuring.
How do we choose the person to love? It may be much different than you think.
Here we are. The person we’ve always dreamed of appeared in our life.! It may be that this person corresponds to us or it may not be so. It may be a love that is happy or full of clouds. Especially in this second case, we will happen to ask ourselves: but why him/her? Generally, we tend to attribute the guilt/merit of this meeting to destiny,. We are led to think that everything happened only by chance, without us being able to influence fate in the slightest. We found ourselves in a certain place, at a certain time, and fate (only it) made us meet. But the studies carried out in this regard would show that this is not the case. The choice of the person to love would not be at all casual but would be the result of our careful, although unconscious, research. We, therefore, determine our destiny and make it happen. But what determines our choice? Leggi qui l'articolo completo
“Sad songs say so much”, sang Elton John in 1984 in one of his most beloved songs. The beginning of the song was like this:
“Guess there are times when we all need to share a little pain And ironing out the rough spots Is the hardest part when memories remain And it’s times like these when we all need to hear the radio `Cause from the lips of some old singer We can share the troubles we already know. And it looks that way. We often choose to listen to a particular piece because that music conveys the same emotion that we are experiencing or because we identify with the text, we associate it with people or events that are real to us. In general, we can say that the music expresses a message in which we identify ourselves. If we feel sad, we will feel the need to share our sadness by listening to sad music.
